Process overview
GS campus recruiting runs August–October for summer analyst roles. The standard path is HireVue → phone/video first round → superday (4–6 back-to-back 30-min interviews at a major office).
- 1
Perfect your 60-second pitch. GS interviewers expect a polished, concise 'walk me through your resume' that clearly explains your path into finance — rehearse until it flows without hesitation.
- 2
Know all three core valuation methods cold: DCF, trading comps, and precedent transactions. Be ready to explain when you'd favour each approach and what drives the premium in a given deal.
- 3
Follow live M&A and ECM deals. Be prepared to discuss a current transaction, opine on valuation, and explain the strategic rationale from both buyer and seller perspectives.
- 4
Superdays move fast — expect 4–6 back-to-back 30-minute sessions. Stay consistent across every interview; don't assume later interviewers have been briefed by earlier ones.
- 5
GS values intellectual curiosity and integrity. Prepare two or three concrete examples of times you demonstrated each using the STAR framework (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
