Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) explains how Fintern (“Fintern,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit fintern.io (“the Site”) or use our services. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make sites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).

In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as pixel tags (tiny invisible images embedded in pages or emails) and local storage. This Policy covers all of these technologies collectively.

Categories of Cookies We Use

We use four categories of cookies: Strictly Necessary, Functional, Performance, and Targeting.

1. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Site and our services to function correctly. They cannot be turned off because without them core features such as authentication, security checks, and session management would not work. They do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is needed to keep your session secure.

Cookie / TechnologyPurposeDuration
access_token (localStorage)Stores your JWT access token to keep you signed in during an active session. Never transmitted except in the Authorization header of API requests.Session (cleared on logout)
refresh_token (localStorage)Stores a long-lived token used to silently renew your access token so you stay signed in across page loads without re-entering your password.30 days (or until logout)
Cloudflare TurnstileA bot-detection challenge presented on the login form. Cloudflare sets a short-lived cookie/token to verify that you are a human visitor and to protect the Site from automated credential-stuffing attacks. No personal data is collected beyond the verification result. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.Short-lived (minutes)

2. Functional Cookies

Functional cookies remember choices you make and personalise your experience on the Site. You may opt out of these, but doing so may reduce the functionality available to you.

Cookie / TechnologyPurposeDuration
Theme preference (localStorage)Remembers whether you have selected light or dark mode so the correct theme is applied on your next visit.Persistent (until cleared)
Sidebar / UI state (localStorage)Stores minor UI preferences such as sidebar collapse state and dashboard column ordering so your layout is preserved between sessions.Persistent (until cleared)

3. Performance Cookies

Performance cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site so we can improve its design and reliability. Any data collected is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

Cookie / TechnologyPurposeDuration
Vercel Speed InsightsCollects anonymised page load timing and Web Vitals data (LCP, FID, CLS) to help us monitor and improve frontend performance. No personal data or browsing history is shared. See Vercel's privacy documentation.Session

We currently do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics platform. If that changes, this Policy will be updated before any new tracking begins.

4. Targeting Cookies

We do not currently use any targeting or advertising cookies on the Site. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Third-Party Sign-In (OAuth)

When you choose to sign in using Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or Yahoo, you are redirected to that provider's login page. Those providers may set their own cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies. Fintern does not control those cookies. For more information, please refer to:

How to Manage Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View cookies that are stored and delete them individually or in bulk
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block cookies from specific sites
  • Block all cookies
  • Delete cookies when you close your browser

Please note that blocking or deleting Strictly Necessary cookies will sign you out and may prevent the Site from functioning correctly. Browser-specific instructions for managing cookies can be found at:

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always show when the most recent revision was made. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
